Kafue National Park is Zambia’s oldest and largest park, spanning wide floodplains, rivers, miombo woods and open grassland. The Busanga Plains draw lions, cheetahs, buffalo and red lechwe, while elephants, leopards, wild dogs, sable and roan move through quieter areas. More than 500 bird species enrich every season. A Kafue safari can mix game drives, guided walks, boat trips and night drives across remote country shaped by water. Keep It Wilde plans each journey around camp location, wildlife movement and seasonal access, giving you space, variety and real encounters each day in one of Africa’s least crowded safari regions. Lions cross the Busanga Plains as red lechwe move in wet grass and cranes call over the floodplain. Farther south, elephants browse near woodland, sable stand in clearings and wild dogs range across wild lands. Boat trips reveal hippos, crocodiles and birds along the Kafue River, while guided walks uncover tracks, plants and small life. Sunset brings gold light, quiet water and vast skies, leaving each day with the rare sense of space that defines a remote Zambia safari.

July to October is the best time for Kafue National Park safari, when dry weather and falling water levels draw elephants, buffalo, antelope and predators toward rivers, lagoons and open plains. July and August bring clear days and good access, while September and October become hotter but deliver intense wildlife viewing. Boat trips, walks and game drives are rewarding during this period. From November to March, summer rain greens the landscape, fills wetlands and brings young animals and migrant birds, though some roads and camps close. Keep It Wilde carefully plans each journey around access, weather and wildlife movement.
Explore Kafue by jeep, boat and foot on game drives, walks, cruises and night safaris. Watch lions on Busanga Plains, follow elephants near rivers, seek rare antelope, photograph birds or fish on some waters. Keep It Wilde matches each outing to camp, season and access, creating a true Zambia safari rich in wildlife, space, skill and discovery.
